I’ve already mentioned a few things about the Tough Mudder. In fact, you’ve all probably gotten sick and tired of me talking about it, BUT since I haven’t really shared many details from my personal experience, here are just a few random tidbits I saw/noticed last Saturday.
~The married couple in front of us were in a fight before we’d all even ran a mile. (They probably made up by the end of it…I hope…either that, or he just left his wife to sink in the mud mile. This is entirely possible.)
~A young man with a semi-impressive beard had been drinking the night before….and the morning before…and was still drunk when he began the race. I did not see him again for the rest of the day. My guess is he decided to nap in one of the tunnels or trenches.
~It is a bad idea to put glitter GLUE on your arms. Just because you can’t find a vial of glitter to dump on yourself on the morning before the race, does not mean the sparkly glue is a good alternative. IF you smear it on your arms(or anywhere on your body, for that matter), it’ll merely look like dead, flaky skin……… with glitter. (This may or may not be from personal experience……..
……..well…………………..
……………………………………………okay………………………………..
………………………………………………………………………………It is from personal experience.)
~Someone out there with another blog is probably writing about the Tough Mudder and how they saw some girl with a skin disease that caused her to shed glitter-skin…
~The “Arctic Enema” is a giant dumpster filled with ice-water that you get to jump into…then you swim under a wooden beam to get to the other side, while hoping that your body/limbs don’t seize up on you. After defeating this obstacle, it took jogging another half mile before feeling completely returned to my ass….and I realized I had ice in my underwear. Being the classy LADY that I am…I reached right down in there, snatched the ice, and threw it to the side. I just want to say “thank you” to the guys who were behind me and yelled, “ICE-crack”! I thought it was pretty “punny”.
I’m sure there’s more than that stuff…..I mean….still 8 miles of memories after all that! But we’ll save that for another time….maybe.
**Prances off to watch “The League” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.**
It sounds like you had fun! :-)
Definitely did!!
